It’s first thing Monday morning. A regional manager at an equipment rental company has a week to plan and three questions to answer first:

  • Where did revenue move?
  • Where is it slipping away?
  • Which customers need a call this week?

The answers exist. Revenue and fleet numbers are in the rental management system. Account history and open deals are in Salesforce. The rest lives in a spreadsheet someone updates by hand. By the time it’s all pulled together, it’s nearly lunch, and the week has started without them.

Meanwhile, the expensive problems keep happening quietly. One branch turns away rentals while another has the same equipment sitting in the yard. The busiest part of the fleet goes out below list. A long-time customer starts spending less, and no one has called them in three months.

I hear versions of this story from partners all the time. They’re the software companies and consultants who know an industry from the inside: the systems their customers run, and the questions those customers ask before the week begins. When one of our equipment rental partners described this Monday morning, we set out to build the report that regional manager should open instead.

One page, with all three answers ready before the week starts.

What’s on the page

A summary that shows its work. At the top, Informer’s built-in AI reads the numbers in the report and writes a short summary with three recommended actions for the week. Every underlined phrase links to the chart or account behind it, so the manager can check a statement before acting on it. The AI works only from the report’s own figures, and it never changes anything in the rental management system or in Salesforce.

Revenue by branch. A chart walks from last year’s revenue to this year’s one branch at a time, showing who carried the region and who held it back. Selecting a branch focuses the whole page on that location.

Fleet return by equipment class. Every equipment class at every branch is plotted on two measures: how much of the fleet is out on rent, and how much it earns for what it cost to buy. In the sample data, the 60-foot booms at one branch are 92% on rent but going out at an average of 27% below list. High demand at a discount is a conversation worth having this week.

Fleet rebalancing. It’s common for one branch to turn customers away while another has the same equipment sitting in the yard. The report finds those pairs and recommends what to move. In the sample, that’s 18 units across four equipment types, a few truck trips.

Accounts that are spending less. Customers with declining revenue rise to the top. Opening one shows rental history, rates and receivables from the rental management system beside the Salesforce record, with open opportunities and the last time anyone spoke with them. One click drafts notes for the call from both systems.

Why it works

It starts with the data you already have. Informer connects to the systems your organization runs on, whether that’s a rental management system, an ERP, a database or a cloud application. It uses the same logins and permissions your people already have, so there’s nothing to export and no extra copy of the data to maintain.

Because those connections are governed, the systems can sit side by side. That’s how this report places the rental management system next to Salesforce in one view, without anyone stitching spreadsheets together.

And because the AI works inside that same governed view, it’s grounded in your own numbers. Every suggestion traces back to the data behind it.

Magic Reports sit alongside the reporting your team already relies on. They take on the questions that come up every week, while your dashboards and scheduled reports keep doing their jobs.

Beyond equipment rental

Rental is a natural fit, but most partners I work with serve an industry with its own version of Monday morning. A title company wants to know which closings are at risk this week. A ticketing office wants to know which events are behind last season’s pace. A field operations team wants to know which sites need attention first. The systems differ from one industry to the next, and the situation is the same: the answers already exist, spread across systems no one has time to pull together.

That’s where our partners do their best work. They bring the questions that matter in their industry, and Informer brings the connections, governance and AI underneath.

See it for yourself

Watch the full demo above. If your team asks the same questions every week, talk with our team about what a Magic Report could answer for you.

If you build or deliver solutions for an industry and want to bring reports like this to your customers, become a partner.
